Technorati, ya bitch!

2J74VWGDGPP4

That's the glorious claim token from Technorati up there. Why do I have go through the pains of making an obviously insignificant blog post with that bloody code –  this post you are reading now, I might add –  just so I can claim this blog? Come over here Technorati. Let me give you a nice slap on the face!

A Little Thing Called Love

A little problem
Most of you might already be familiar with the Thai movie A Little Thing Called Love (a.k.a First Love). Its popularity has invaded Facebook and YouTube by storm. But, there is just one teeny-weeny problem -- the English subtitle is horrendous.

I'm the type of person who can't last watching a foreign movie with crappy subs. If it weren't for a Cielo's recommendation, I won't even consider watching this movie. My first ever copy of the movie was the 8-part videos uploaded in YouTube. I watched the movie with China, and together, we cringed at the dismal subtitle that seems to be a product of the ever reliable Google Translate. Though after watching the whole thing, we agreed that it was pretty good and that we love Teacher In a lot.

A little quest
China tried to look for a decent English subtitle on the world wide web but the only thing she could find was the oh-so bad one. She downloaded that, and hence marked the beginning of our quest to fix the terrible subtitle.

China and Grace edited the first 10 minutes of the subtitle. China had to give up because of piled-up school work and, of course, because of this...

Yes, that's their comment over there during the first stage of editing. Pokemon! XDD

Anyway, here's the breakdown of the editing process.
China: 10 minutes; timing and final edit.
Grace: 20 minutes
Lei: The rest of it... I have a lot of free time THEN.

China's knowledge on Thai culture and my love for football were also very handy. And I swear, Chon's "2nd" penalty shot should be a miss.

To this,
Ahhh... The miracle of context clues.

A little note
Originally, we fixed the existing (crappy) English subtitle for our friends and orgmates. Joe told me that a lot of people would appreciate it if we share this online. But I have to warn you that none of us speak Thai. We repeatedly watched the move -- as in a million times -- just to get the context of several scenes, and from that we edited the (crappy) English subtitle. If you speak Thai, and would like to edit our version of the subtitle, go ahead. But please, credit us appropriately and send us a copy of your edited version. In short, let's follow the give and take rule. ^_^
